Lisa's Journey to Becoming a Trustee

Home-Start provides support to families in the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow who have at least one child under the age of five. The support varies according to the needs of each individual family, but volunteers are there to listen, offer friendship in times of need, and practical help, for example, during playtime or outings. They describe themselves as a preventative service, with the idea that their volunteers offer support early enough that social services don’t have to step in.
